Shipboard Human Resources
The Shipboard Human Resources Department is a unique department consisting of the Shipboard Human Resources Director, Training & Development Manager, Manager of Staff administration, Training Coordinator and Staff Administration Coordinator. Our department provides a holistic range of services to our 39,000 team members on board our 24 vessels. These services range from training and development to crew on-boarding and everyday crew needs including recognition, awards and crew recreation.
The Human Resources Director supervises the HR team and is responsible for the strategic implementation of our shipboard HR processes and procedures including: Employee relations, Employee Communication, Training and Development, Staff Administration, Coaching and Counseling, Quality of Life and Leadership Training. The HR team is divided into two tiers which include Staff Admin & Training.
The Staff Administration team which consists of the Manager of Staff Administration and Staff Administration Coordinator ensures that our team members enjoy prompt, courteous and efficient crew services, and also coordinates all crew travel arrangements. In addition to this, our Staff Administration team liaises with Customs and Immigration at various ports to facilitate the smooth on-boarding and debarking of our team members.
The training team which consists of the Training and Development Manager and Training Coordinator work in close partnership with the Staff Administration team by providing award winning training courses offered in our state-of-the-art crew training centers. The crew training centers have over 400 learning resources including e-learning courses, books, tapes, DVD’s, management courses and language resources. This team also conducts fun and informative training programs including regulatory/ safety training, Team Carnival Orientation, English Classes, Hospitality Training, Sales Training and other department-specific training. This department is also responsible for overseeing the star employee of the month program, the service award program and the Crew Recreation Committee which is responsible for all crew activities and FUN on board.
