Today's Carnival
Carnival Cruise Lines is the world’s most popular cruise line based on passengers carried. The company has earned its leadership position by offering more of what consumers desire in a vacation – a wide variety of choices, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere, along with outstanding value and beautiful destinations – at one all-inclusive price.
Carnival is constantly developing new and exciting on-board experiences that cater to its wide-ranging clientele. Its newest ship, the 130,000-ton Carnival Breeze, embodies the line’s commitment to innovation, including expansive top-deck areas such as WaterWorks, an aqua park with exhilarating water slides and other attractions; SportSquare, an open-air recreation complex with a ropes course, mini-golf, and outdoor fitness area; The Lanai, a wraparound promenade with whirlpools extending over the ship’s sides, and a 270-square-foot poolside LED screen displaying movies, and other programming.
With such spaces as the RedFrog Pub, a lively spot for tasty island-inspired snacks and drinks, including its own private label beer. Other dining highlights include Bonsai Sushi, the line’s first full-service sushi restaurant and a new free outdoor barbecue venue called Fat Jimmy’s C-Side BBQ, and Cucina del Capitano, a family-style Italian restaurant that brings the heritage of Carnival’s captains to the table, along with a casual two-level poolside eatery and a classic American-style steakhouse. Carnival Breeze is also the first Carnival ship to feature the Thrill Theater, an immersive multi-dimensional special effects experience that makes viewers feel as if they’re part of the movie. Carnival Breeze is also the first ship to feature Playlist Productions, captivating revues that combine high-tech LED staging and special effects and live performances to set a new standard in seagoing entertainment.
Many of these features are part of “Fun Ship 2.0,” a $500-million multi-ship initiative that will transform the Carnival vacation experience with new bar and dining concepts, branded spaces and exciting entertainment innovations.
Carnival, the family cruise leader carrying 710,000 children annually, continues to upgrade its top-rated children’s programs - Camp Carnival (ages 2-11), Circle “C,” (12-14), and Club O2 (15-17), each offering expansive facilities, age-appropriate activities and highly trained staff.
The line also offers the widest variety of close-to-home departure points, including new year-round departures from New York and an extended schedule from Boston, as well as only year-round cruise programs from Charleston, S.C., Jacksonville, Fla., and This year, Carnival will operate from 20 North American homeports – the most in cruising – providing consumers with a convenient, cost-effective means for embarking on their “Fun Ship” cruise.
